Shebang is a sci-fi RPG set approximately 1,000 years in future. The
world is a different place. In fact, for all intents and purposes, the
world is gone. Humans have settled on Mars and the fourth rock from the
Sun is the new home world.
The old civilization of "science and idealism" collapsed centuries ago. In its place is an iron clad technocracy. The utopian dreams of the free-thinkers were warped by corruption and finally crushed by those who just didn't give a damn.
The technocrats have created a new social order, an order that serves them and their purposes. Of course, there are entities out there that work to undermine them - rebels, criminals, and even lofty institutions like the Order. Some subversive acts are carried out in the open, but many more are carried out in the shadows. What's more the technocrats must fear the enemy within as well as the enemy without.
In Shebang, players can choose from a list or pre-set character archetypes or they can make up their own. Play grunts and aristocrats and uphold the technocracy. Play free lancers, rebels, scum, scavengers, or mercenaries and go for the dough. Or just play free wheeling adventurers. The core, rules-lite, mechanic is powered by the d6. Many optional rules are available for those who wish a more controlled game. With its expandable rule-set and numerous setting options Shebang is easily tailored to suit the GM's whimsy.
The Fifth Wheel (the Book of West Marque) is a western-fantasy RPG. In
it, you play a Fifth Wheel, a lawman's lawman.
Set in the world of West Marque, a not-so-wild west of some forgotten yesterday, the law of the land is yours to uphold.
The game is designed to cater to three types of players:
1. Those wanting quick, one shot games filled with snarling gunfights.
2. Those wanting longer campaign styled play.
and 3. Those seeking an unhealthy blend of both.
The core mechanic is condensed to a handful of pages but many optional rules are available to suit your personal tastes. Tailor the game how you want.
Outlaws, dirt riders, low lifes, and Dead Priests...Bring them to justice, hang 'em high, or put 'em in their graves. It's all up to you.
Imagine if you woke up tomorrow and discovered that the things you read
about in your old storybooks were true; that deep in the woods lurked a
Big Bad Wolf waiting for a Little Red Riding Hood, that shadows stalked
the night time streets, that angels were not mere apparitions or visions
for a select few but were as real as your next door neighbour.
As you stare in the mirror in the morning and your reflection stares back at you, you somehow know that the world on the other side of the mirror exists. More than that, gods walk among men. They rain thunder and lighting down on the brightest cities, shatter man’s finest monuments with a whim, and subjugate the strongest leaders with a word.
The book version of the Creep Chronicle will be available soon.
I did some serious soul searching in 2007. The result of my soul searching led me to the announcements that I am making today.
While I love to create games and supplements, RPG publishing is a pastime. The work I do here at Timeless Games falls between my commitments to family, friends, and my full-time job. As a result, I don’t create as much (or as quickly) as I would like. Unfortunately, life interferes with gaming.
I write games and game-related material because I enjoy it. I certainly don’t do it for the money. As a small publisher, I lose more money than I make. Because I do it for the love of it, I want to make sure I enjoy it. There were times last year – and even the year before - when it seemed more a labour than a love. I want to get that joy back. I want to enjoy writing RPG material. I am still releasing RPG products and Timeless Games will continue, but at a different pace.
These decisions do not reflect what is going on at Better Mousetrap Games. The guys there are hitting on all sixes. I have a great deal of respect for my fellow publishers at Better Mousetrap and I urge you to check out their stuff. When Better Mousetrap was created I referred to Timeless Games as the joke shop of the BMT umbrella corp. While I create okay games, my fellow imprints create great games. I still believe that Timeless Games has a place at BMT, just a humbler place.
I want to thank Jay for all of his work on the Timeless Games website. I hope you like the new look and format. Jay is part of the team that created a really cool on-line, puzzle game, TerraClues. Check it out at www.terraclues.com.

Timeless Games is pleased to announce the release of The Boomtown Planet – Saturday Edition (a complete overhaul of the original Boomtown Planet).
Boomtown Planet-Saturday Edition is a tip of the fedora to those famous newspapermen and newspaperwomen of the past. Set in the Dirty 30s, in the fictional city of Boomtown, you are an employee of Boomtown’s number daily, the Boomtown Planet.
Boomtown, however, is not your ordinary city. Sure there are bootlegging mobsters, crooked politicians, and scheming businessmen. But there other things besides…mad scientists, giant robots, monsters, and things that go bump in the night. It’s inconsequential to a hard-bitten reporter or a hard-boiled gumshoe. There’s a story out there that needs to be found and told. And it’s your job to do it, regardless of the peril.
So pick up your copy of Boomtown Planet – Saturday Edition hot off the press.
